BH Scare -- is this a 2nd pregnancy thing?
Now, I'm not exactly a high-strung Mama. I've done this before, and I know what's normal and what's not, but what happened to me last night actually had me freaked!

We were watching some TV when I had a tremendous BH. It was actually painful. About 20-25 minutes later, I had another one, just as intense (so much so that I had to breathe through it to relax my uterus again). About 20-25 minutes later, same thing. So, three really hard BH, evenly spaced, w/in an hour. By that point, we were done with our show and went upstairs to bed, but I was really nervous -- I'd never experienced such intense or regular BH in my first pregnancy. Luckily, I didn't have any more for a while (I had one during the night that woke me up, but that's it), so I chilled the fuck out and went to sleep.

Now, is this just a 2nd pregnancy thing? I know BH happen earlier in 2nd pregnancies and can be more intense, but the spacing/regularity really weirded me out. It didn't qualify for the 6-in-1-hour rule for calling my widwife or doctor, but it just didn't feel right.

Like I said, I'm not a paranoid Mama. I am pretty well educated on pregnancy and childbirth, but this surprised me!

i've heard it's common because you know the feeling already, but i totally had FEWER toning contractions with m than with k. i barely had any until i went into labor on dec. 26th (m was born dec. 28th).

I don't really know much about it, but my experience - I had NO BH (that I could feel/identify) with Emma, and this time round I've had a couple of evenings where I've had them 10 minutes or so apart for about 40 minutes (strong enough to make me go 'uhh' for the first one because I wasn't expecting it). (Not nearly enough action for 39 weeks, darnit, but that's another story!)
